Where to now?
Crime is Detroit's biggest problem. Jobs won't be back, education won't improve, the economy won't improve, unless crime in Detroit is put to an end. Even with all of the possible solutions out there, fixing Detroit will take awhile. There's many if solutions that are impractical. Detroit needs solutions that are going to work, not ones that just look good on paper. For real change to the city, the key is to start small.
Detroit's police have recently announced the Green Light Project, this project will place more and better security cameras in places like conveience stores and gas stations to help catch and deter would be criminals. This will help detroit because it can either get the criminals caught or it can prevent crimes from even happening. Many shop owners expressed their delight at this area because it can help make people feel safe again.
Another Option police are considering is banning guns in the city. The polica want to make it illegal to sell or owna firearm in the City of Detroit. They feel this will help cut down on some of the violent crimes that are occuring. Many citizens are skeptical. They say the criminals are going to get the guns anyway and that they'd like their own as a safety precaution.

Detroit's crime problem can't be solved overnight or by one solution alone. By implementing small, practical solutions, the crime will decrease and the city will eventually come back. There's no real solution because Detroit is still in ruin, but by supporting those who are trying to make a difference in Detroit is a good place to start.
